Yes.
This journal is all about Oblivion IV, which i have just gotten for Xbox 360. If you have a 360, get it. If you have a friend with one, tell them to get it and force them to let you play. It's worth it.
Basically, it's like Fable: You can do whatever you want; save the world, become a gladiator, enter the guild of thieves and steal steal steal, etc. The best part is you aren't confined to certain skills by class, you simply start at apprentice level in the major skills of your class and can level any of them. Doesn't make much sense now, but all will be explained.
Premise: The story starts off with you in the dungeon for something not mentioned O(after you choose your race). The emperor suddenly comes in with his bodyguards trying to escape the palace through the secret passage that happens to be in your cell. When he meets you, he tells you he saw you in his dream (and other stuff) then leaves. You, too, escape through that tunnel and meet up with him later while he's being attacked by assasins. After you save him, the remaining bodyguard decides to trust you and you journey through the sewers with them. After awhile, though, he is killed and his dieing wish is that you bring the Amulet of Kings to his son, and a certain priest knows the whereabouts of his heir and tells you to find him.
That's how the story starts off anyway. There are a lot of story-archs in this game and even more sidequests and odd jobs for you to do and even after you do ALL of them (which would take who knows how long) there's still things like burglary and arena to keep you satisfied XD.
Character: Before oyu start the game you choose your race and your guy's appearance, and you can literally change ALL ASPECTS of your character's face, from the size of his cheeks to the direction his eyes slant in. Then at different points in the sewer you choose your birthsign and class, but DON'T THINK ABOUT IT FOREVER, before you exit the sewers you get a chance to change your race, class, and birthsign to something else.
Customizing: As i mentioned before, there are alot of skills to meddle with in this game and you starts off at apprentice level with 7 skills. They are, in no particular order: Acrobatics, Athletics, Blade, Alchemy, Light Armor, Marksman, Sneak, Armorer, Block, Hand-to-Hand, Blunt Weap., Heavy Armor, Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism, Restoration, Mercantile, Security, and Speechcraft. Then there's you main stats. When you choose your class/create your class, you pick two major skills which will get a boost when you choose that class, and you can also increase 3 of them each time you level up (you gain experienceto level up from raising your classes' main 7 skills). These stats are: Strength, Intelligance, Willpower, Agility, Speed, Endurance, Personality, and Luck.
Tips:
1. When making you own class, you can make it a magic, combat, or stealth speced class. If you want to be a Ranger or Hunter type class, choose stealth as you class type. Other than that you can pretty much guess and if you want to be a hybrid of sorts, choose any of the three.
2. Athletics is important to any class, as it affects how fast you run/swim and regenerate fatigue.
3. If you want to be magic/stealth class, choose light armor and NOT heavy. If you where heavy armor and are not at apprentice level with it, it will encumber you a lot.
4. If you wish to become a thief and are making a custom class, make sure you have Stealth and Security as two of your major skills, or if youchoose to be an Argonian, you don't need Security as a main skill because they're naturally good at it.
5. GOOD TIP: In the beginning of the game when you choose you race, choose the cat race which can see in the dark. That way you can save all your torches while in the sewers and change your race to what you want before you exit. You now have plenty of extra torches

So I am going to make pictures for all of my friends here, so keep watching:
(Here they are, in no particular order):

Wow, wouldja look at that, we got a nice round number!
Devious Comments
The fighter's guild is boring, the mage one is tiring, the assassin's one is AWESOME, the thief guild can easily be cheated on and that special Argonian/Khajiit guild is less cool...
In Oblivion, everything can be settled with a claymore.
Hold Forward+R, Hit hard, you win.
Even on the ''last boss''.
(Considering the big red thing is killed by activating a sequence >.>;
Morrowind on teh PC was better considering you could download mods to make the whole thing better.

Your fav frenchie
Been meaning to get it, but haven't gotten arund to it (I like to wait for cheaper prices XD). I forget if they included or cut out the custom item enchant option/ability, is that still there?
Oh, and if you haven't played it already, you should definitely try Morrowind. It's not as fancy graphiced and NPC varied, but it's massive non the less (supposedly much larger than Oblivion). With the expansions, it's got nearly endless stuff to do, (from what I've heard) it has several things that were cut out in Oblivion (like spears/halberds and a race if I recall right) .

i dont think any races were cut out, unless there was another sub-human race other than the three in the game (the white guys, the black guys, and the other white guys).

Life is like a closet full of time bombs: You don't know which ones are active, and in the end, it doesn't matter.
